Future Clog, Vans has launched modern Dutch clogs

Updated: 5 days ago

Forget everything you know about clogs. Vans has decided to get serious and transform one of the most polarizing shoes ever into a super fashionable item. Future Clogs are designed for those who aren't afraid to be bold, who love looks that get people talking, and who see fashion as a creative playground. If you like to go unnoticed, these aren't for you.

When Vans meets contemporary art

The Future Clogs are the result of a new collaboration between OTW by Vans and S.R. STUDIO. LA. CA., the fashion project by artist Sterling Ruby. A capsule collection that blends skate culture, contemporary art, and experimental design, proving that Vans is not just about iconic sneakers, but also vision and research.

Future Clog: the clog you don't expect

The name says it all. Future Clogs are a hybrid between a minimal sabot and a Dutch clog, revisited with a futuristic twist. Clean lines, sculptural shape, and a deliberately bold aesthetic: this shoe doesn't seek approval, it demands it. It's the classic piece you can't ignore: you either love it or hate it.

Two shoes in one

A lightweight Japanese-style slipper that can be worn inside a Dutch-inspired Future clog: the two shoes can be worn together or separately. A new way to dress your feet, halfway between traditional fashion and futuristic streetwear. Classic and modern in one product.

When will they be released?

The OTW by Vans x S.R. STUDIO. LA. CA. collection, including Future Clogs, is available from December at vans.com/otw and at selected retailers. If you really want to stand out, you know what to look for!

OTW by Vans: the brand's most experimental side

OTW by Vans is the project with which the brand pushes the boundaries of skatewear. Here, Vans collaborates with creatives, artists, and designers to showcase skateboarding as a culture, not just a sport. The result? Collections that look like they came out of an art gallery, but that you can wear every day.

S.R. STUDIO. LA. CA. in brief

S.R. STUDIO. LA. CA. was born from the vision of Sterling Ruby and combines American craftsmanship, experimentation with fabrics, and contemporary fashion. The brand has graced important stages such as Pitti Uomo and Paris Fashion Week, even making it to the MET in New York. Not exactly a side project.

Who is Sterling Ruby (spoiler: not just anyone)

Sterling Ruby is one of the most influential artists on the contemporary scene. He lives and works in Los Angeles and works in sculpture, painting, ceramics, and textiles. His works are in the world's most important museums. With Vans, he brings his radical aesthetic directly to the feet of Gen Z.
